Our New York Home
The Walter Hoving Home is a non-profit, faith-based rehabilitation center serving women 18 years and older who have been involved in drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution and other life-controlling problems.
The Home first opened in New York in 1967. Then in 1984 we expanded to California. Then, after some people invited us to expand further, we opened a home in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006.
Our home has a 90% success rate for those who complete the entire 12 month program. We also offer an additional time of transition where women continue to live in the home while learning life and job skills and working in active employment.
We have nearly 20 staff members divided among the three locations.
Our bible-based program involves what we call our School for Christian Growth. Students learn how to manage anger, bitterness, low self-esteem and other important issues.
The Home is financially supported through gifts from individuals and through monthly fees paid by the students. All residents participate in the tasks of maintaining the home.
